Speaker Bio
Robert Carrillo is a community-centered real estate developer, nonprofit founder, and housing practitioner based in San Bernardino, California. He is the Founder of The LaunchPad Collective and Carrillo Group CANY (CGX), where his work focuses on delivering mixed-use, mixed-income, climate-forward development models in historically disinvested communities.

With more than two decades of experience across residential and commercial real estate, Robert’s work sits at the intersection of housing access, sustainability, economic mobility, and community resilience. He is currently advancing multiple LaunchPad developments in San Bernardino - modular, all-electric projects that integrate non-market-rate housing, ground-floor economic opportunity, and renewable energy infrastructure without relying on traditional federal housing subsidies.

Robert’s approach emphasizes long-term affordability through non-speculative ownership and master-lease structures, alongside LEED-aligned design, solar plus battery systems, and car-light, transit-oriented site planning. His work prioritizes populations often excluded from both housing and green development, including transition-age youth, youth aging out of foster care, veterans, immigrants, and small business owners.

In addition to his development work, Robert has a background in education, youth development, and community advocacy, and brings a practitioner’s lens to policy, entitlement strategy, and implementation under California housing law. His work is rooted in real-time delivery - testing ideas on the ground and refining them through practice rather than theory.
