Dan Burgoyne is the Sustainability Manager for the State of California’s Department of General Services (DGS). He is a LEED Fellow, with 40 years of experience in the design and construction industry as an architect, contractor, project manager and government policy leader. This includes 26 years developing and leading implementation of California policies and executive orders in energy, green building, zero net energy, decarbonization, and climate change adaptation and resiliency for state facilities. He directed the development of the California Facilities Decarbonization Action and Investment Plan. Dan chairs California’s Sustainable Building Working Group leading 35 state agencies implementing state laws and policies and served as an advisor to California’s Green Building Code (CALGreen), GSA, and California’s High-Speed Rail Authority. Dan has served on the Board of Directors of the USGBC, NASFA and the California Commissioning Collaborative as well as other USGBC committees and currently serves on the LEED Resilience committee.
