Barry is a Principal at Servidyne, located in Atlanta, GA. He has provided energy and sustainability consulting services for over 40 years. His current focus is developing decarbonization strategies and enhancing occupant health and wellbeing in existing commercial building portfolios. He serves on the USGBC’s LEED Steering Committee, is Vice-Chair of the LEED Existing Buildings Consensus Committee that developed LEED v5 O&M, and former Chair of the LEED Energy and Atmosphere Technical Advisory Group. He is a Life Member of ASHRAE and serves on the committee responsible for ASHRAE Standard 211, Commercial Building Energy Audits, which is currently being updated to include Building Decarbonization Assessments. He co-developed a decarbonization game that was first introduced at the ASHRAE 2024 Decarbonization Conference in NYC and then further workshopped at Greenbuild 2024 in Philadelphia. He served as a reviewer for the upcoming USGBC/ASHRAE/NYSERDA Strategic Decarbonization Planning Guide. Barry graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi with a degree in Energy and Environmental Engineering from Stanford University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer, LEED AP O+M, and ASHRAE Building Energy Assessment Professional.
