Speaker Bio
Marisha Farnsworth is a licensed architect with extensive expertise in green infrastructure, ecological building technologies, and digital fabrication. A graduate of UC Berkeley (M.Arch.) and The Cooper Union (BFA), she has designed and executed projects at both small and large scales, often utilizing innovative off-market materials. Her portfolio includes public art installations crafted from urban timber and a 165-foot pavilion for Burning Man constructed entirely from beetle-kill pine. Marisha is the director of O2 Artisans Aggregate, a 2.25-acre light industrial park in Oakland, California, and home to a newly remodeled Nail-Laminated Timber (NLT) warehouse. Her deep connections within the Bay Area craft and design community uniquely position her to advance the use of small-diameter timber in the built environment.
