Christian Kienapfel, originally from West Berlin, Germany, holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Applied Sciences in Cottbus. As a Fulbright Scholar, he furthered his studies with a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech in the U.S. He is a licensed architect in both California and Germany, and a Certified Passive House Designer (CPHD/C) as well as a LEED AP.
With over 25 years of global experience, Christian has worked on a wide range of architectural projects in countries such as the U.S., Germany, Italy, Malaysia, and Costa Rica. These projects span commercial buildings, theaters, high-rise structures, religious and community buildings, as well as single and multi-family residences.
In addition to his professional work, Christian has taught architectural design and hospitality/interior design courses, and has been invited to serve as a guest lecturer at various international conferences. He has been on the board of Passive House California (PHCA) since 2017 and is the architect behind one of Southern California’s first certified Passive Houses.
