Frances Kwong is an architect dedicated to delivering high-performance, sustainable buildings that serve public and community needs. Grounded in a strong commitment to social impact, she started her architecture career with an AmeriCorps year of service with Habitat for Humanity, leading the construction of energy-efficient affordable housing in Colorado.
Frances brings a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to her work, partnering closely with client teams and engineers to realize complex, sustainable buildings. Her project experience includes multiple affordable housing developments, including a pilot project for the Bay Area Low-Carbon Concrete Codes Project, as well as sustainability pilot projects and modernization efforts for public school districts and independent schools.
Beyond her professional practice, Frances remains deeply engaged with mission-driven organizations through board service and volunteer roles. Her involvement includes staffing valet bicycle parking with the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition, mentoring diverse youth and expanding access to the architecture profession through SFNOMA’s Project Pipeline, and supporting cultural heritage and education for Chinese American communities through the nonprofit Friends of Roots.
