Principal Architect licensed in numerous states and NCARB Certified. Jim was 20-year President of Ferguson Pape Baldwin Architects (now Executive VP). Jim has nearly 40 years’ experience in life sciences and is a Subject Matter Expert in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. Jim recently helped the team obtain LEED Platinum Certification for a ground-up biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Jim was the lead Architect for the IDEC Pharmaceuticals facility that produced the 1st ever FDA approved human antibody therapy for cancer with Rituxan; a block-buster drug to this day. Jim was the Principal Architect for FPBA for the TAMUS/BARDA National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing, Pandemic Influenza Facility/Live Virus Vaccine Facility. Jim is a Past President of the ISPE San Diego Chapter and still active member.

Jim possesses extensive sustainability experience, leading numerous LEED Certified projects and a prior LEED AP. Jim designed, built and won an energy savings award for his Net Zero Energy home. Jim was the Principal Architect for the Genentech OSUT Facility that was awarded LEED Platinum in 2025.
