Chiu Tam, S.E., P.E., M.S., LEED AP, is a Senior Structural Engineer with the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering, with more than 18 years of experience in structural engineering, private development, and public infrastructure capital improvement projects. He currently leads the Design Standards and Investigation Group, overseeing Bureau engineering standards, specifications, design manuals, and approved products.

Tam also serves as a technical representative for the Bureau in evaluating and implementing innovative materials and construction technologies. He leads the Bureau's Low Carbon Concrete initiative, working with City departments and industry partners on policy and specification development, pilot projects, performance evaluation, and implementation.

He is a registered Civil and Structural Engineer in California and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees from the University of California, Davis.
